Astronaut Chris Galland and crew convince savage tribes of post-apocalyptic humans to unite against the “blood-sucking dome dwellers.” Not original and poorly scripted, this Atlas (Seaboard) comic from John Albano, Pat Broderick and Frank McLaughlin is still a lot of fun.

Four survivors on the run from the Badoon invasion join together to form the Guardians of the Galaxy. While this reprint from Marvel Super-Heroes #18 disrupts Astonishing Tales’ Deathlok serial, this tight intro tale from Arnold Drake and Gene Colon is a fine consolation.

The spider priestess Rak-Nora escapes from “astral disintegration” and seeks her revenge on the Tarantula. Another enjoyable issue of Weird Suspense, featuring a so-so script by Micheal Fleisher and interesting art by Pat Boyette.

Review: The Cougar #1

When a real vampire causes trouble for a horror-movie crew, it’s up to The Cougar to save the day. Not great yet strangely enjoyable, this debut issue by Steve Mitchell, Dan Adkins and Frank Springer is fairly typical of the Atlas (Seaboard) line.
