Synopsis: Godzilla teams with Devil Dinosaur to protect the Valley of the Flame from the Lizard-Warriors – but happenstance has other ideas!

Review: This is a terribly dull comic book, which simply shouldn’t be possible. At a minimum, the teaming of Godzilla and Devil Dinosaur should offer goofy good fun. But the tandem spends most of this issue on the run. Meanwhile, human heroes in another time wait for something – anything – to happen. Despite a solid setup in the previous issue (see review), writer Doug Moench seems content using pseudoscience and happenstance to undo what’s come before. Meanwhile, Herb Trimpe’s art looks like watered down Jack Kirby (whose own work was on the decline by the time of Devil Dinosaur). A disappointing outing.
Grade: D+
Cool factor: Godzilla and Devil Dinosaur? That should be cool …
Not-so-cool factor: … but it’s not.
